Hello! This email will have to be pretty short! I have a lot to say, and not much time!
This week has been fantastic. We have been doing a lot of finding, and seeing a lot of success. It's unbelievable how many prepared people the Lord has placed in this area. It's always amazing to get the opportunity to see people find joy in living he Gospel! There is no greater feeling on this earth!
A couple weeks ago, we started this new transfer, and with it, we chose a new theme. This theme comes from Mosiah 20:11:
11 And it came to pass that the people of Limhi began to drive the Lamanites before them; yet they were not half so numerous as the Lamanites. But they fought for their lives, and for their wives, and for their children; therefore they exerted themselves and like dragons did they fight.
The theme, as you can already tell by the title, is, "Fight Like Dragons!" In this section of canon, we learn that exerting yourself, or fighting with the utmost of ferocity to defend your beliefs, your lives, your loved ones, etc, is how a dragon would fight. A dragon puts everything on the line to protect everything that he has already gained. So as a district, we are working on "Fighting Like Dragons," giving everything we have to protect those that need protection, and help those that need help, and giving everything we've got to uphold the promise we made when we were baptized, as referenced in Mosiah 18:9:
"...and are willing to mourn with those that mourn; yea, and comfort those that stand in need of comfort, and to stand as witnesses of God at all times and in all things, and in all places that ye may be in..."
But I also believe that this lesson is not only for the benefit of the missionaries. I believe that any one can "Fight Like Dragons" and stand up for what you believe, and if there is one thing I believe in, it's happiness. And, if we put it very simply, that's what the Gospel is. That is the purpose of the Gospel. It is the Plan of Happiness. Now, I'm sure we are all willing to "Fight Like Dragons" in order to defend our happiness. That's the entire reason we were sent here to this earth, to give it all we got, leave it all on the field of life, and then, when our time comes, return home with honor. I know this Gospel is true! I know that it is the true source of all joy. I love you all. And hope you have a fantastic week, and,
Fight Like Dragons!
